Meet Our Team

Christi

Christi has been in the field since 1991 and has over 20 years experience. She graduated in 1996 from NAU with a BS degree in Biology and Psychology. Christi entered the dental field as a dental assistant and transitioned to the front office in 2000. As our front office coordinator, she can assist you with all of your front office needs such as financial arrangements, insurance, treatment plans, and scheduling.

When she is not helping patients, Christi enjoys spending time with her family, going to all types of sporting events, and dining out.

Marissa

Marissa is an Arizona native and has worked in the dental field since 2012. Although having started very young in the field, she has always had a strong interest in the dental field and can’t imagine herself anywhere else! In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts, social events, and hanging out with family and friends.

Liz

Liz has been in the dental field since 1998 and started her career in California where she was born and raised. She is a Registered Dental Assistant in California and also graduated from the Bryman College in 2003 as a Certified Hemodialysis Technician. She has been Dr. Patel’s head dental assistant since she moved out here in 2010. She is currently attending Chandler-Gilbert Community College working on her Dental Hygiene degree. Liz is fluent in Spanish.In her free time, she loves spending time with her daughter as they both enjoy cheering for the Steelers and Dodgers! Their hobbies are hiking, going to live theaters, and shopping.

Karen

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Karen moved to Arizona in 2001. Karen attended dental assisting school in Milwaukee, WI and has been working as a dental assistant since 1990. She loves the hands-on opportunities of dental assisting and the patient interaction. She is living in south Gilbert and is married with 2 children.She enjoys the outdoors, love to hike, bike and Zumba! She also has a passion for travel and is very interested in exploring other cultures, plus she is a huge beach bum and dreams of living on a tropical island.

Des

Des has been in the dental field since 2015. She studied Dental Assisting at Carrington College. She enjoys educating her patients about the importance of oral health. She is currently attending Carrington College working on her Dental Hygiene degree. In her free time, she loves spending time with her son and hubby. Their hobbies are traveling, going fishing, and watching football.

Troy

Troy graduated from Rio Salado Dental Hygiene School in 2015. After working at a few offices, he found his home at Island Dental in 2019. Troy cares about people and wants to help them improve their oral health with the latest technology, products, and procedures available. He likes listening to his patients' concerns and exploring solutions together. Troy was born in Delaware and raised in New England. He moved to Arizona in 1992. When he is not helping patients, he enjoys vacationing with his wife and family, playing guitar, and leading worship at church.

Kristy

Kristy has been a hygienist for 25 years. She attended Taft College for 4 years where she graduated in 1997 at the top of her class with a science degree in dental hygiene. Upon graduating, she practiced in California until she recently relocated to Arizona. She is dedicated to treating patients with optimal care and motivating patients through patient counseling and education. She is attentive, compassionate, and committed to applying her extensive skills for an enhanced and dental experience. Kristy has 2 daughters and is anxiously awaiting being a grandmother one day. Meanwhile she enjoys her 2 grand dogs, Louie and Moose. She loves traveling and hiking as often as she can.
