Very disappointed. My husband and I have been going to Island Dental for 4-5 years and have always been pleased with the experience. In the past, we’ve gotten in and out quickly and the receptionist has always been chatty and cheery. But mostly, we’ve been thrilled with the hygienists we’ve been seeing for years, Molly and Laura. This visit, we were surprised to have new hygienists (who we were not happy with), sales pitches for electric toothbrushes, water picks, crowns and Invisalign. The receptionist could barely muster words when checking out, let alone a smile. The whole experience was awful. When I asked about the hygienists we’d been seeing for years, I was told “they both don’t work here anymore.” That’s a red flag. Also, the hygienist my husband got told him she was a “fill in” and complained about customer service Indian telemarketers during their chat. Awkward. And the one I had knew I was uncomfortable with the new water pick cleaning system their using now and said “it made the process faster.” And then proceeded to dig at my teeth with regular tools for another ten minutes. Was it faster? Or could you have shown some compassion and listened to the patient. Needless to say, we’re not going back and are now on the hunt for wherever Molly and Laura went.
